Which Sydney suits you?
Start with the places you go and the way you like to spend your week.
Where does your working day begin?
The right connection matters more than distance from the CBD.
Your destination might be the city, Parramatta, Macquarie Park or somewhere else entirely. Compare the complete trip from each home: walking, metro or train connections, buses or ferries, and the journey back at night. If you drive, add traffic, tolls and parking to the comparison.
Plan a trip with Transport for NSWWhat would you like close to home?
A coastal walk, a familiar café, a park or the shops you use every week.
A harbour view is only one way to enjoy Sydney. Picture an ordinary weekend, then check the actual walks from the property to the places you would use. A useful local centre or an easy trip to friends may matter more to you than a better-known postcode.
Same suburb. A very different home?
Orientation, privacy and street noise can change from one apartment to the next.
Compare the specific floor plan and position within the building. Check daylight, overlooking, balcony use, storage and parking. Visit at a time that reflects your routine where possible; an address alone cannot tell you how a home will feel.
Who would choose to rent it?
Think about the tenant’s week as well as the advertised rent.
Look at access to the workplaces, education and services relevant to prospective tenants. Compare similar local rentals and their actual features, then allow for strata levies, other holding costs and time between tenancies. A broad suburb average is a starting point, not a rental forecast for one apartment.
